Charlie H. Nichols, Jr. , was born December 25 1933, in Monroe County, Alabama, to the union of the late Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Mamie Johnson Nichols. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge. In addition, Charlie also retired from the Mobile Pulley Works plant, in Mobile, Alabama, where he served, until his retirement, in the position of supervisor. He was a faithful member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, of Mobile, Alabama, where he served in many capacities, including dedicated groundskeeper, usher, and church council member. He remained dedicated and committed to the financial vision of the church until his health began to fail him. Charlie H. Nichols, Jr., was preceded in death by: his parents, mother, Mamie Johnson Nichols and father, Charlie Nichols, Sr.; daughter, Beverly Jackson; infant son, Charlie Horace Jr.; and sister, Emma Moultry. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving, kind, and faithful wife of 50 years, Willie Juanita Nichols; devoted son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Felecia) Nichols; loving and devoted daughters, Melissa Sims, Cherrie Mickles, Wanda Nichols, and Stacy Parker; son, Labarron Holifield; four sisters, Vera Williams, Jessie Ellis, Mamie (Leo) Finkley, and Anner Ruth Purifoy; two brothers, one devoted, Willie J. (Gladis) Nichols and Esau Nichols; a devoted aunt, Annie Hoggs; sister-in-law, Claudette Austin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, (one devoted) Karen Ellis, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
