Eddie Cheese, Jr.

November 28, 1949 ~ April 26, 2019 (age 69)

Mr. Eddie Cheese, Jr., born November 28, 1949, in Mobile, Alabama, exchanged this life peacefully for eternity on April 26, 2019, at his home.


Eddie accepted Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age at The Church of God House of Deliverance.


Eddie married his childhood friend and crush, the love of his life, Gloria Marie Rencher; from this union five girls completed their family; they shared forty-eight beautiful years together.


He was a longtime employee of Halter Marine, now Northrop Grumman Shipyard, where he was a Foreman and mentor to many young men. He had recently retired and enjoyed three wonderful years.


Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, the late Pastor Cather Bell Cheese and a brother, Michael Cheese.


He leaves to cherish many precious memories: a loving and devoted wife, Gloria Cheese; his father, Eddie Cheese, Sr.; one uncle, Claiborne Smith; one aunt, Pauline Green, all of Mobile, AL; five beautiful daughters, Zarolyn Cheese of Mobile, Cather Cheese of Irondale, AL, Yuacania Handy of Mobile, AL, Sheree Cheese of Los Angeles, CA, and Sharolyn Tartt of McKinney, TX; seven grandchildren, Ravenn Cheese, Danneal Handy II, Nigiel Handy, and Chancellor Handy, all of Mobile, AL, Christopher Bryant of Irondale, AL, Carlito Tartt, Jr., and Chelsei Marie Tartt of McKinney, TX; six brothers, Bennie (Angela) Cheese, Barry (Jacqueline) Cheese of Dallas, GA, Darryl (Yolanda) Cheese, Sr., Charles (Callie) Cheese, David (Tammy) Cheese, Sr., and Timothy (Monica) Cheese, all of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Barbara (Willie) Rocker, Patricia (Booker T.) Smith, and Gwendolyn (Timothy) French, Sr., all of Mobile, AL; one brother-in-law, Calvin (Regina) Rencher; six sisters-in-law, Juanita Mixon, Laura (LeVaughn) Jenkins, Jacquelyn (Tony) Chambers, Denise (Derrick) Anderson, Carla (Marcus) Morrissette, and Annette Rencher, all of Mobile, AL; twenty-six nephews; thirty-one nieces; one devoted god-sister, Beatrice Walker; three goddaughters, Kena (Charles) Graham, Porcha Anthony, Carolyn (Kenneth) Quinnie, and Tina Jones, all of Mobile, AL; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
