Mother Louise Jackson

February 20, 1934 ~ March 11, 2018 (age 84)

Mother Jessie “Louise” Brooks-Jackson was a native of Pine Hill, Alabama and a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. She exchanged this life for Eternity with Jesus Christ on March 11, 2018 at the home of her Granddaughter, Victoria Yates, while surrounded by many family and friends.

Mother Louise Jackson was preceded in death by her parents; Bessie and Jessie Brooks; one Sister, Fannie Hubdy; two Daughters, Linda K. Houston and Mother Fannie Jackson-Young.

She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories; two Daughters, Marchelle Jackson of Mobile, AL, and Nichelle Jackson of Las Vegas, NV; a highly devoted and loving Granddaughter and caregiver, Victoria Yates; a surrogate daughter, Sis Patricia Jackson; a host of grandchildren, one caring, Latoria Jackson, and  great-grandchildren; one devoted, Kaitlyn “Muffin” Pogue; nieces, nephews and many other relatives. One of many caring friends, Lillian (Emanuel) Hamilton. Devoted Prayer Warriors and friends, Mother Gail Jackson, Sis Lenora Swopes. Her immediate caregiver; Annette Petite, Dedicated Transportation Providers; Great-Grandson, Charles “CJ” Yates , Mother Iola Jordan, Minister Ronnie Fairley, Elder Billy Reed and Deacon Marcus Jordan and the many other honorary transporters from Harts Fried Chicken on Springhill Avenue where Mother spent her Sunday evenings and weekly visits.

Mother Louise Jackson was highly intelligent and made many sacrifices for her family. She served as a Domestic Engineer for many prominent Mobile Businesses and was dedicated to perfecting her skill set in a manner that she was extremely sought for her professionalism. She accepted Jesus Christ as a young woman and dedicated her life to serve at Grace Temple Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Chief Apostle Alexander Moore and current leadership of Apostle Solomon L. Curry. She was assigned to and served on the Grace Temple Mother Board for over 25 years and in the Year 2015, she was later appointed as the Head Mother of Grace Temple Organization where she honorably served faithfully until her departing. Mother Jackson was a living example of the Word of God. She was a counselor for anyone who needed a listening ear, a Teacher for those who needed to know the word of God and how to receive salvation. Mother Jackson carried the love of God in every walk of her life. Mother Louise Jackson was faithful in her calling and was not ashamed of praising God.

Mother Jackson will lie in state on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5PM - 7PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 953 S. Broad Street • Mobile, Al 36603.

The Family will receive Family & Friends on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Grace Temple Holiness Church • 159 Hemley Avenue • Mobile, AL 36607. A viewing will begin at 11AM followed by a 1PM Celebration of Life Service.
