Mr. Richard Eldridge, a native of Demopolis, Alabama, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, departed peacefully on February 19, 2019, at University Hospital.
Richard received Christ at an early age, and was a member of Pure Word Ministries, under the leadership of his wife, Overseer Dr. Ruby Eldridge. He worked
at the Alabama State Docks as a foreman for 32 years. In his free time, he enjoyed garage sales, fishing, and buying cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willie Eldridge and Mrs. Lizzie Eldridge; his daughter, Valerie Eldridge; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Eldridge
Fluker, Mrs. Annie Bell Ash, Mrs. Mary Ford, and Mrs. Callie Lambert; and three brothers, Ezekiel Eldridge, Eddie Eldridge, and Jessie Eldridge.
He is survived by: his devoted wife, Overseer Dr. Ruby L. Eldridge; children, Jannie (Walter) Jackson, Mary Eldridge, Richard Eldridge, Jr., Phillip Eldridge, Luedella
Eldridge, and Bettye Jean Eldridge; five grandchildren, Pastor Ced (Joi) McMillan I, Monica (Divine) Kun, Brandy McMillan, Kammi McMillan, and Danquavius
McMillan, Sr.; seven great-grandchildren, Tamiriel Goldsmith, Madison McMillan, Cederick McMillan II, Drake Wright, Jamal Holt, Jr., Danquavius McMillan, Jr., and Valor McMillan; one sister, Florence Eldridge of Springfield, Massachusetts; and two brothers, James (Debbie) Eldridge and Jimmy (Lorraine) Eldridge, both of Atlanta, Georgia. Further cherishing his memories are his amazing caretakers, Elder Vanessa Williams, Shedrick Wilson, Gregory Ingram, and Rodney “Yankee” Sullivan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
