Rodney Elbert Taylor, Sr.,Rodney Elbert Taylor, Sr.,51, a long time resident of Mobile, Alabama, transitioned from this life on December 11, 2018.
He was born October 30, 1967, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and was a graduate of Pascagoula High School. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and later moved to Mobile, Alabama.
Rodney Elbert Taylor confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of The Church of the Living God in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He served as President of the Men’s Ministry, was a Trustee Board member, and a member of the Male Choir. He was a very compassionate man that would lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he could.
He loved to ride motorcycles and was known by many in the biking community. He was Founder and President of MobTown Riders for many years. He was employed as a manager most of his working career and made a profound difference in the lives of many that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cicero and Roberta Taylor and Bennie and Alice Means, one aunt, Laurandra Autman, and one uncle, Bennie Means.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Joyce Taylor; his three sons, Rodney Taylor, Jr., Travis Taylor, and Domonick DeFlanders; his three daughters, Robin DeFlanders, LaTasha Taylor, and Cierra Taylor; his grandchildren, Rodney Taylor III, Janoah Thompson, TyNessia Taylor, Azaria DeFlanders, Jada Evans, and Alaina Trepagnier; parents, Robert and Mollie Taylor; three brothers, Larry (Alfreda) Taylor, Robert (Shunte) Taylor, and Jermaine Taylor; six sisters, Alicia (Johnny) Gatson, Wanda (Fred) McGee, Carla Smith, Shawn Sperling, Tonya (Anthony) Mitchell, and Gwyneth (Tarvis) Brown; father and mother-in-law, Orrie and Betty Johnson; sister-in-law, Vanessa (Brian) Williams; brothers-in-law, Orrie Johnson, Jr., Thaddius (Dorcas) Johnson, Eric (Kawonna) Johnson, Marvin Johnson, and Carl (Evelyn) Johnson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 1PM-6PM at Heritage Funeral Home | 953 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36603 and again from 11AM-12:50PM until the 1PM Celebration of Life Service at Christ Temple Apostolic Church | 801 Virginia Street, Mobile, AL 36603 on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
